Johanna and I met almost 40 years ago at the bible school she was attending. Not long after we were married we attended seminary together. Since then we have worked as a team serving the Lord.
In 1982, Johanna wrote her first book, The Beautiful Side of Evil, warning the Church of spiritual deception, which so easily ensnares those who base their theology on experience over and above sound doctrine. In 1989, her second book, Like Lambs to the Slaughter: You Child and the Occult, warned parents of the insidious religious influences in the schools, media, toys, etc. that are drawing children into a fascination with mysticism and the occult. Through radio, TV, documentaries, seminars, retreats and lectures, she has sought to alert the Church of the deception that Jesus warned would be one of the key signs of the end of the age (Matthew 24:4,11,23-25; 7:15-23; I Timothy 4:1; 1 John 4:1; 2 Timothy 3:1-5; 13-17; 4:1-4; Acts 20:26-31).
Since 1984, I have served in various roles in the Church as an elder, associate pastor and senior pastor.
The occult explosion, especially over the past 25 years, has greatly influenced the Christian Church. The increase of false prophets, false teachers and deception in the Church has multiplied the number of persons who are seeking guidance for themselves, their families, and their churches. Due to the internet and social media, Johanna is now receiving hundreds of e-mails and requests that she is finding increasingly difficult to answer one at a time.
To facilitate meeting the increased requests for ministry and the need for information, we must now rely on a broader team effort to fund, organize and manage the ministry.
The Lord is faithful and He is once again proving to us that He works all things together for good! In June 2015 we launched Michaelsen Ministries, which is a tax exempt 501(c) 3 organization.
At the encouragement of a small group of Christians who are aware of the spiritual attack on the church and the nature of our ministry, we have been enabled to undertake this new phase of our service to the Church. These saints have sacrificially come alongside us to provide the technical, legal, financial and administrative support necessary to begin a ministry that meets a profound need in these last days and we will seek to maintain a high standard of accountability.
We are deeply grateful to the Lord and to them!
